Season: Autumn
September first hits the calendar and it feels like everything changes! The occasional crisp mornings with a cup of coffee changes my spirit so drastically. Having a newborn in the summer has made me feel a little cooped up in the heat so I am ready for all the outdoors this fall! It also feels like it kicks off the holidays with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas around the corner — its the entrance to so much celebration! Cueing up my Ina Garten playlist and dreaming up recipes, seasonal tablescapes, and cozy knits. A few things I like to do to get in the autumn spirit:
Get a fall candle — I don’t like a strong scent but this one has the perfect subtle cider scent that is making me so happy! I also liked the pop of red and scent of this one for when I burn through the first one before November. I love the Lafco Orange scent if you are wanting to splurge.
Switching out linens — I typically put up our more colorful green pillows and take down our textured brown Luna pillows in the living room. In the bedroom, some java sheets, love these pillows for pattern, and I always pull our bed cover out.
Ive seen people doing a simmer pot to smell up the house with a clear pot ( tons on amazon ) and adding oranges, apples, cinnamon, pears, etc! Looks and smells so good.
Dreaming up a few fall recipes to bake. Baking has been more challenging with a 4 month old but I will be sure to visit the Half Baked Harvest website asap.
It’s a little early for mums & pumpkins but I saw some small ones for 4.99 at my local aldi so I had to get one to kick off the season.
Cue all the knits, silky skits, loafers, barn jackets and suede.
